Inspirational Coach, Desiree Aragon Nielson, Has A Slow Message For A Fast-Paced World
Inspiring Business Consultant and Spiritual Coach, Desiree Aragon Nielson talks about the Western cultures addiction to doing more and doing it faster and the inevitable unhealthy consequences.
Sacramento, California – March 1, 2018 – Desiree Aragon Nielson, Inspirational Business Consultant, Coach and co-author of the best-selling book, Ready, Set, Go!, recently posted a new blog on her website entitled, “To Live Your Best Life, S-L-O-W Down.” Ms. Nielson makes her point by quoting lyrics from a the classic Simon & Garfunkel 59th Street Bridge Song which advises “Slow down, you’re moving too fast, you’ve got to make the morning last.”
Nielson writes, “Way back in 1966, Simon and Garfunkel knew how important it was to slow down.” She continues adding, “At that time a half-century ago, before the Internet’s arrival the world was moving faster than it ever had before, at what seemed like a frightening pace.”
“In today’s digital world,” says Nielson, “it’s worse than ever. In Western culture, we seem to have become addicted to doing more and doing it faster.” She points out, “Too many people are habitually behaving as if there is an actual finish line, a destination to arrive at where they can be complete, done, finished. They’re so attached to getting over the finish line that they forget that there really is no beginning or end.” “And,” Nielson emphasizes, “because there really isn’t a finish line, the tendency is to just keep going, faster and faster and faster.”
According to Nielson, “The consequences of this addiction, in the form of chronic stress, are seen in the suffering bodies, minds and spirits of countless millions.” She adds, “In a harried and hurried state of mind, it’s virtually impossible to see one’s true potential, never mind being able to tap into possibilities. The mind closes off to everything but the groove of moving faster. There is no time for ‘feeling groovy’”.
