Healthcare has many different business units running simultaneously in one acute-care hospital. Services include: nursing, physicians, emergency rooms, surgical units, janitorial services, building maintenance, equipment management, referrals to urgent-care centers, outpatient clinics and so much more. Now expand one hospital into two or twelve or forty.
Sustaining Excellence - Program Implementation
For SkillSoft, I served as:
Technology companies focus primarily on the development and/or manufacturing of technology, or providing technology as a service. Many large tech companies are known for innovation and use electronic technologies for educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom.
My services in program implementation included blended learning solutions to help growing organizations engage, educate, train and develop their workforce & clients. Sampling of businesses served: Adobe, NorthPoint Communications, Intel.
Retail and Food Service
Culture Change and Performance Accountability
At Jack in the Box, I held the role of:
Retail and Food service both satisfy consumer demands through a supply chain and both have a significant problem with retention. In food service, for example, turnover can be as high as 300% in a low performing high volume urban restaurant.
During my time with Jack in the Box, we implemented a culture change initiative. The focus was on retaining great employees using consistent messaging and performance management. We taught leaders to communicate with their teams early and often to manage their turnover effectively positively impacting morale and increasing revenue.

Desiree Aragon is certified to train and facilitate top rated leadership programs, deliver difficult messages, and influence with power of persuasion. She also holds a masters degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development (M.H.R.O.D)
In 2017, Desiree partnered with several experts and business guru Brian Tracy to earn amazon best seller status for the collaborative book, Ready, Set, Go! Top Tips for Setting Yourself Up for Success. She has also been recognized by the Women Speakers Association as a Voice of the 21st Century with a book releasing in Fall 2019.
Thanks to her working mom, Desiree was a bona fide mail clerk by the age of nine. The thing about spending childhood in an office setting is that one can quickly learn a few things about how people behave at work. Watching people interact over the job roles and responsibilities made Desiree acutely aware of workplace morale.
By age 19 Desiree was majoring in organizational communication and helping one of her earliest employers with a merger/acquisition. This would be her first organizational culture intervention long before she'd ever even heard of the concept. Finding unique ways to help the on-boarding team connect with the parent company was a complex and rewarding challenge. She clarified shared goals, outlined job roles and affirmed the value of transitioning employees.

From these early days, Desiree could see that if we ignore the environment at work, productivity gets derailed. Equally, she learned that if we really pay attention to the signs talented people show us, magic happens. Sustaining excellence is about inspiring leaders to know who they are, what they do best and remove environment, mindset, and skill based obstacles inhibiting success .
Desiree's leadership journey began when she first learned how to influence without authority. Using strategies to gain buy-in, combat resistance and celebrate successes helped her build long-lasting relationships.
Desiree consulted for a bit before starting a family. Desiree was then hired into Sutter Health when she was 9 months pregnant. In healthcare then bio science, she moved up from consultant to manager to director and then onto Vice President.
Throughout her career Desiree has used her special ability to pick up on subtle nuances to grow top talent. She loves to be connected to the fast high impact changes leaders make for big wins.

In addition to Desiree's extensive work in leadership and organizational behavior, she has actively studied varied aspects wellness and spirituality. Thus, she is a certified licensed Angel Therapy Practitioner from Hay House Publishing and earned certification as a spiritual life coach accredited by the Emerson Theological Institute.
